Aviation Electronics Technician First Class Petty Officer (AT1), USN(Ret)
AT1 Brett Johnson was born and raised in Newark New Jersey. AT1 graduated from East Orange high school in 1977. Leaving New Jersey, AT1 Johnson ventured to Boston University where he was accepted in the school of fine arts. After two years of study AT1 Johnson took up several positions in law enforcement prior to joining the United States Navy in 1982.
After Advanced Electronics training, AT1 Johnson took his first tour with VFA-113 the "Stingers” at NAS Lemoore CA, making one Western Pacific, and one Northern Pacific deployment before transferring, back to Millington TN as an instructor of electronics. From there AT1 Johnson was off to NAS Sigonella Italy, where he spent four years in support of Operation Desert Storm as well as normal Mediterranean operations. From Italy it was back to NAS Lemoore CA for a second instructor tour, a second squadron Tour with VFA-137 the “Kestrels” and a final tour at Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD).
Upon Retirement from the Navy, AT1 Johnson took a position at Sanger High School NJROTC as a Naval Science Instructor, and is now finishing his fourteenth year teaching.
